What makes Global Wealth Management different from its competitors?

At Global Wealth Management, we offer a holistic approach to financial planning that is both ethically driven and refreshing in the industry.

Most people have come across the sales man trying to sell a 25 year pension plan, whatever their needs might be. We however, take the approach that sound financial planning has to start with protecting the loved ones, and oneself, and the financial plan should be robust enough to last throughout an individual's life

Importantly, all of our advisors are members of the Offshore Financial Trade Association, which provides essential ombudsman services for our clients, and a level of professional indemnity insurance for your advisor.

How do you create a financial plan, and how do you assess the right products for me?

To create a financial plan, we first have to complete a financial profile report. This gives us an overview of a client's current situation and future aspirations. This information is input into our exclusive needs analysis software which will give us the basis for our recommendations.

Armed with this information, we can then begin to search the open market for products that best meet the needs identified and truly tailor you recommendations.

How do I know my advisor is able to give me the best advice?

There are several stages our advisors will go through within their developmental program. They will have 100% supervision while they are deemed “trainee”. This means there will always be a qualified supervisor in attendance at all meetings, until the advisor attains CAS (Competent Advisor Status).

To obtain CAS, the advisor must be deemed competent in all areas of the planning process, and pass industry standard qualifications. This means all of our clients will always have a qualified professional present at every meeting to ensure the best advice.

How am I charged for the advice?

Most of the products that we offer have marketing allowances built in to them, which is paid to us as our remuneration. From time to time, for bespoke services, we levy a fee instead of a marketing allowance, but this will be discussed on an individual basis.

How much is the minimum investment GWM will look at?

At GWM, we deal with all types of investors, from large asset management companies looking to place funds in different locations, to an employee who may need a basic bank account.

There are minimum investment levels with most of the financial programs available in the market place, but the minimum will depend on the individual circumstances of the client.

We do however, provide the same service standards for all of our clients, regardless of investment levels.

What happens if my Advisor moves to one of your other offices, who will look after me?

As a professional company, and ensuring the best ongoing service to you, we have a rigorous training program that ALL advisors must adhere to.

Should your advisor move to one of our other offices, or be promoted, another advisor, equally qualified, will be available to continue as your account manager.

How do you research funds for clients, and do I get charged for this?

When it comes to fund research, we tend only to use the very largest names in the industry with proven track records, and we deal direct with the fund houses so that you are not being charged any additional amounts. This is why we are the preferred advisor for the investment industry professionals. Our research is normally through Bloomberg and Standard and Poor's.

How long does the process take, and what is involved?

This will depend on how complex the situation is. Typically, we will hold four meetings with a potential client.

The first meeting is to introduce the company and the services we offer. The second meeting is to create the financial profile report, this can take up to one hour to collate all the relevant information. We then perform the needs analysis and write the recommendation report which is normally 20-30 pages. The third meeting is presenting the recommendations and agreeing the next stages for the fourth meeting, which is where the potential client becomes a client.

The following stage is performed by our administration and client servicing department. They will liaise with your chosen institution, arrange any medicals, request outstanding information or anything else that may be needed. Once all information is received, policy documents will be issued and we begin our servicing schedule.

I have existing products with other IFA's, but I am not happy with the service I receive.
Can I switch my policy to you, and will you charge me for this service?

Almost 50% of the clients we have at GWM, have switched from other brokerages for various reasons.

We are happy to service portfolios and policies of this nature and there is no fee levied for this.
